For better or for worse, I have maintained radio silence while spending time with family and friends in Madison. I am sure I could have posted more and finished up some projects that have been piling up, but I didn’t. Now, it is 2016 and it is time to ramp things up once more. On that note, I would like to share my plans for the next few weeks of my trip. My ultimate destination is the Pacific Northwest, a place whose natural beauty, outdoorsy culture, and epic wilderness access has captivated me for quite some time.
To get to Washington and Oregon, I must first pass through Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, and Idaho. Normally, I might recommend saving these places for the warmer months, but I do not have that luxury. All four states see bitterly cold temperatures in the winter, which only be compounded by the cold spell that will hit the region this weekend. Yippee. Luckily, I stocked up on warm clothes and winter gear when I was in Madison. I should be prepared for just about anything that comes my way… I hope.
So without further adieu, here is a map of my next few weeks on the road. Stay tuned for more constant updates and in-depth stories from my journey across the northwestern tier of the United States!
