Before my solo adventure begins, I will spend the better part of six weeks fulfilling one of my father’s lifelong dreams: to hike the Coast-to-Coast path across England. I cannot begin to explain how excited I am to share this experience with him. When I was young, he instilled in me a love for natural spaces and their exploration. Now, I get to join him on one of his dream trips. I am a lucky guy. Recently, I realized that I may be even more excited to simply spend 6 uninterrupted weeks alone with my Dad. We have never had that amount of time together. Indeed, I have barely spent more than a few weeks at a time with him since I shipped out to Bates in 2009. He has always been one of my most influential mentors and I feel truly blessed to be able to share the Coast to Coast path with him. Here is our route!
I know that I am hoping for sunny weather, but am packing for that wonderfully dreary English moisture!
